Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet visits Oscar Austin in Varna, Bulgaria
Vice Adm. Christopher W. Grady, commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, visits the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79) and attends a reception while the ship is in port Varna, Bulgaria, May 16.
The ship's operations in the Black Sea are meant to enhance maritime security and stability, and combined readiness and naval capability with our NATO allies and partners.
U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with joint, allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
