USS Carney Arrives in Amsterdam

The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) arrived in Amsterdam for a scheduled port visit April 29, 2017.


The ship’s presence illustrates the partnership of NATO nations as they work towards a stable, secure, and prosperous European region and  is a demonstration of the continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of the European region.

Quick Facts: 
While in Amsterdam, Carney is scheduled to host a reception for distinguished visitors.
Carney is scheduled to host local youth from the Big Brother and Big Sister organization for a tour of the ship. The crew is also expecting to volunteer at a local animal shelter.
Visiting the Netherlands demonstrates enduring relationships and the shared commitment we have to promote safety and stability within the region, while seeking opportunities to enhance our interoperability as NATO allies.
