The Arleigh Burke-Class guided-missile destroyer USS Gravely (DDG 107) departed Ponta Delgada, Portugal, May 12, 2018, following a scheduled port visit.

While in port, crewmembers participated in a community relations project at a local home for handicapped youth, provided ship tours to local students and hosted the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal, George E. Glass, and his wife, Mary Glass.

“The entire crew enjoyed this opportunity to experience the culture, hospitality, and beautiful sights of Ponta Delgada. It was an honor to host Ambassador Glass and his wife, along with the many others who were able to visit Gravely during our stay,” said Cmdr. Michael T. O’Reilly, executive officer of the Gravely.
